CONGRATULATIONS, MARIA THOMAS
Second place winner in the Regional Metropolitan opera Auditions

Maria Thomas was a finalist in the District Metropolitan Opera Auditions in San Antonio on February 18, and won second place in the Regional Auditions on February 19.  Maria has been a frequent performer in MUSIC IN SALADO productions, including Miss Pinkerton in The Old Maid and the Thief, "Tosca" in The Italian Opera Evening, and our members' Christmas Party in 2004 and 2005.  Maria, 22 and a senior at Baylor, will stay around another year to finish up academics and another year with Dr. John Van Cura.
